Environmental Management
Each Sedgman project includes a focus on environment. The Research and Development team develops innovative technologies that include addressing environmental concerns associated with coal and metals production and use. This is carried right through to operating facilities to prevent or minimise the likelihood of environmental harm.
Programs
Site Based Management Plan (SBMP)
As part of preparing for construction, Sedgman prepares a Site Based Management Plan (SBMP). The SBMP details measures to prevent or minimise the likelihood of environmental harm being caused during the project.
In January 2007, the following SBMP was developed. It contained the following sections:
